Be strong for me

Over 200 years ago, the countires of Wentias and the country of Galear were one. The aging king had two sons and he wanted to give both the possiblity to rule the land. To avoid familiy conflicts, he divided the country into two and gave each piece to his sons. The sons began to fight anyway, one wanted the land for himself, saying that it was what their father wanted in the end. The other accused his brother of poisoning their father.
Many years later, at the time Thoril the dwarven soldier and his wife Carella the human started their familly in the city of Musto-Yume, the war between Wentias and Galear is still raging on.

Musto-Yume and Galear overall did not feel safe enough to raise their newborn child.
Musto-Yume is the capital of Galear, it did not use to be, but the former capital was destroyed during a sea bombardment many years ago. Thoril and Carella feared that Wentias would attack the new capital despite their more advanced technology. Wentias does have this unstoppable warship powered by a hundred Cavea-Sveltis, the one ship that destroyed Galear's previous capital.

So they left for the country of Canar and settled in the growing city of Pegullas.
As per familly tradition on the father's side, the first born of the familly is to be raised alongside a Lizard. Just like how Thoril was raised alongside Magnus, the blue Lizard. His daughter Invidia was raised with Philice, the red Lizard.
Years passed and the young human-dwarf grew never fearing anything. What is there to be scared off when you have a "dinosaur" by your side?

But the war between Galear and Wentias kept going and Thoril had to go back to Musto-Yume to defend and the country.

At the time, Invi was 8 years old and her "dinosaur" Philice was barely bigger than her. She and her father were very close. She understood that this war could take even a man as mighty as her father away from her forever.

"Daddy, after you defeat Wentias, you and Magnus will come back right?"

Thoril did not want his daughter to worry, but he could not bring himself to make a promise that he might not be able to hold. Instead, he gave her a parting hug.

"Magnus and I will do everything we can. In the meantime there are things I want you to do while I am gone"

"W-what is it daddy?"

"Never forget the dwarven vows that your mother and I taught you. Take care of your mother, of Phil, but more importantly of yourself."

"I will, daddy."

"And one more thing..."

"Yes?"

"Be strong for me."

Now 14, Invi spent the years following her last encounter with her father training. It took her that long to be strong enough to wear that armor and to carry and use that hammer. Philice got bigger too, big enough to carry Invi around on his back. But only Invi would fight. She took requests from villagers around Canar for money and battle experience. On rare occasions she would collaborate with other mercenaries or adventurers.

"I have to get stronger for my dad"

Due to her very few interaction with people, she did not make many friends and it took her a while to get her own opinion about the other races. Up until recently, she believed that Krilaties were troublemaking extremists that go around sabotaging dwarven inventions as she was told so by her parents and by the other adults that took part in teaching her what she needed to know as she grew.

She was eventually able to travel outside Canar, at times outside the Rier continent even. Only not in Galear or Wentias, as the war kept going.

"I have to get stronger and help dad win."
"I have to get stronger for daddy and for Galear."

It did not matter how much she'd get hurt in the process, as she believed that dwarven warriors have to be able to endure any pain. She could minimaly heal herself, but more than often, she needed to be carried to safety by Philice. Whatever she feared, she fought regardless.

"I have to get stronger like I promised"

She felt like she could do it, she could become strong enough to aid the soldiers of Galear defeat Wentias, to end the war and bring her father (and Magnus) home. Until bad news came to her.

Wentias has taken full control over Galear. Galear is currently under the jurisdiction of Wentias. The government of Galear has surrendered after the revelation of a flying Renanim, a battleship, that is stationned on the southeast edge of her home city, Musto-Yume.

Like the people of Galear, Invi did not follow yet, there was just no way. If the war is over, where is her father?

"I--I was not strong enough..."

Has she lost her father? Did she fail him?
Her confidence took a hit there and it only became worst when she was not able to fight her worst enemies; Wentias soldiers. There was many of them, all armed and aiming at her allies and she could not fight them. The fear was stronger, she had no choice but to retreat.

"Am I not strong...at all?"

No it could not be, even if she has to take on the biggest most deadly monsters to prove herself her value. She has to stay strong. She must be strong, no matter the cost. She must not mind the pain, she must prove her allies that they can trust her and not worry about her. She must have the strengh to take down Wentias, for Galear and her father. Since then Invi was seen taking on bigger and bigger foes, often putting her life at risk and her body to its limits.

"I MUST be strong no matter what"
